I Paint the Moments You Never Want to Forget.

Motherhood is made up of thousands of little moments.

The sleepy mornings. The tiny hands reaching for yours. The way your baby fits perfectly against your chest. The afternoon light, the quiet moments when you realize how quickly they're growing.

They may seem ordinary while you're living them.

But one day, you'll wish you could go back.

That's why I paint them.

I'm Lily, the artist behind The Motherhood Painter. I'm an oil painter and a mother, and I create heirloom paintings inspired by the real, beautifully imperfect moments of motherhood.

A Little About Me

I'm an oil painter based in Columbus, Ohio, and a mom myself.

I earned my BFA in Studio Art with a co-major in Art Therapy from Miami University, and I've spent years exploring the ways art can hold emotion, memory, and meaning.

Today, my work is centered almost entirely around one thing:

the beauty of motherhood.

I believe the most meaningful art doesn't just decorate a home.

It tells you who you are, where you've been, and who you love.

And I would be honored to tell a little piece of your story.

Why Motherhood?

I've always been drawn to the stories held inside a painting—the emotion, the relationships, the little details that make a moment uniquely yours.

Becoming a mother changed the way I saw those moments.

I began to understand just how fleeting this season really is. How quickly a baby becomes a toddler, how a tiny hand eventually stops reaching for yours, and how the moments you thought you'd remember forever can become surprisingly difficult to picture years later.

Photography preserves what a moment looked like.

I want to preserve how it felt.

My paintings are created from your memories, using your photographs as the foundation and thoughtfully bringing together the people, places, details, and emotions that make your story yours.

More Than a Portrait

When you commission a motherhood painting, you're not simply commissioning a picture of your family.

You're creating a piece of your family's history.

Maybe it's the way your baby fell asleep on your chest.

Maybe it's a quiet morning in the nursery.

Maybe it's your children gathered around you in the place they called home.

Maybe it's a moment that only lasted a few seconds—but somehow captured everything about that season of your life.

Those are the moments I want to paint.

My Approach

Every painting begins with your story.

We'll talk about the people, places, memories, and little details that matter most to you. I'll use a primary photograph as the foundation for the composition, while incorporating additional elements we've discussed to create a finished painting that feels intentional, timeless, and uniquely yours.

I don't want you to receive a painting that simply looks like a photograph.

I want you to receive a painting that makes you feel something every time you look at it.

Something that your children will someday look at and understand:

This was our family.

Let's Preserve Your Motherhood

Your children won't always be this little.

The house won't always look like this.

And you won't always remember exactly how it felt to hold them at this age.

But your painting can remain.

Something tangible. Something beautiful. Something your family can keep for generations.

Let's turn one of your most meaningful moments into an heirloom.
